Hi

I would like to change the resolution of the "second head" of my XP guest (I am running a headless virtualbox and connect to the box via remote desktop).

I can use the setvideomodehint (or some ting like that) to set the resolution for the first head with last parameter set to 0.

When I try the same thing with last parameter set to 1, it does not effect the "second head" at all.

I want to set both heads to wide screen resolution, but after i use setvideomodehint on both dispaly
only the first head can set to wide screen resolution the second head still the in 4:3 resolution.
Is there a way to set the resolution for second screen?

I am running the latest version of VirtualBox

Thanks for your help

Regards,
Stephen

You can specify the resolution RDP should use on the command line. If you use the VB supplied rdesktop-vrdp client, running it with -g you can provide a resolution that should be used. E.g. this will give the second head a resolution of 1280x800 (16:10 wide screen):

Code: Select all

rdesktop-vrdp localhost:3390 -g 1280 800 -d @2

Thanks Sasquatch

It work, but the first time I do this I got the warning that the resolution reset to 1280x900, after I login I need to set the resolution of my second head in the Display property to the wide screen resolution I want, and reboot the VB. After reboot the second head is set to the resolution I wanted,

Thanks once again.
