No network connectivity running Vbox 3.0.2 on Vista host

Host: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with SP1, VirtualBox 3.0.2 PEUL
Guest: Windows XP Professional with SP2
Running Vbox 3.0.2, I find everything seems to work fine except for the fact that as soon as I open VBox (regardless of whether the virtual OS is running or not), all network connectivity on that machine is lost on the host OS (and, consequently, the guest OS). When I try to use the "Repair Connection" option of Windows (on the host), it sees my Linksys wireless router and seems to "connect" to it, but reports "Limited or no connectivity." The network adapter is a Trendnet TEW-424UB Wireless-G USB adapter. If I close Vbox, the problem does not go away; there is still no network connectivity. However, if I reboot the host computer and do not run Vbox at all, connectivity is fine. Any idea as to what could be going on here?
Thanks for any help,
J
