using USB filters
Good day! We have two WinXP virtual machines, and we need give them two usb devices with same names and unfortunately without SNs. In fact, devices are aladdin usb keys, and they must be hard linked to their own machines. Only one way I can see there is to separate them by ports. But I can not find no information about using field 'port' in USB filter. Can someone help me, or may be there is some other design to do this?

Re: using USB filters
One thing I can think of, is to plug them in separately, while letting one VM grab it, then switch to the other and plug the second one in and grab it. There is no other way to identify these devices, other than, as you specified, bus ID. You can set a port filter on the device too, if you edit the filter you add. You only need to know which port it's attached to. Shouldn't be too hard on Linux
.

Re: using USB filters
Thank you for answer. Seems that separating by port work well. Not so easy for me, because my newbie in Linux
, but at least I found port numbers of plugged devices and filter done his job.
