they told me that once i install the virtual box and the os (in my case windows vista) in it, if i want to pass or copy a file from virtual box to the host system, i simple drag the file to the host system, but i fail to neither drag it nor copy it. also i fail to burn files in virtual box to cd/dvd.

I don't know who they are but drag and drop of files are not supported yet in VirtualBox.

and how you burn files on cd/dvd from virtualbox ? when i try to do it the disk drive of the host computer appears and therefore only the files of the host computer can be burned on the cd/dvd, not the virtualbox files.

To move files between Host and Guest a VBox shared folder is easier, see the FAQ and the Manual.

If you want to use your cd/dvd writer inside a VM, you have to open the VM preferences and mount the physical drive and tick the Passthrough checkbox.

I ask you about one thing and you answer about another.

I finally understand what it is you are wanting to do. You must look at this as (2) separate computers. The host computer is one and the guest is another.
To be able to burn files that are on the Guest (computer) you would need to have sharing setup and map the guest as a network share in the host, and the guest would need to be running.
Other than that you could setup a shared folder that is on the host and use VBox shared folder to map it to the guest. Then put files in the shared folder that you want to burn to cd. That way the guest does not need to be running all the time. You can shut down the guest and the files would still be on the host.
It's all in the VirtualBox Users guide.

I think you should start a new thread if you want to switch the subject to guest installation problems - or simply do a search, as that error is frequently seen and discussed. That error usually occurs with a new VM when all your virtual drives are blank, and a CD is either not present or not bootable.
