Yes, so does 3.0.2, there are some issues with vista64 as a host.

Re: Does 3.0.0 support Vista as a host?
I continue to be unable to install an XP guest under Vista 64 (latest patches). I receive a BSOD when the semi-GUI install kicks in. I tried switching off acceleration and all sorts of other options. I have no problems booting XP under FC 11, actually I never had problems under Linux. I tried it on various Vista 64 machines so I don't think it is the hardware although they were all Phenoms.vbox4me2 wrote:Yes, so does 3.0.2, there are some issues with vista64 as a host.
VMWare boots it just fine but I'd much rather use VB. When I looked at the changelog (BSOD XP) I had high hopes that this was finally addressed bu no such luck. Has anybody ever got this to work? I mean, not *theoretically* but actually *has installed and is running* XP under Vista 64 on an Athlon 64 box?

Really? I am running 3.0.2 with Vista64 as a host with XP (32-bit) and Ubunutu (64-bit) guests. The only problem I have encountered is that occasionally, once or twice a day, the Ubuntu guest freezes.vbox4me2 wrote:Yes, so does 3.0.2, there are some issues with vista64 as a host.

Re: Does 3.0.0 support Vista as a host?
Please read closely what I said - I am not talking about Ubuntu or Solaris or anything else - I am talking about WinXP as a guess. Did you *install* XP or somehow load an appliance? My install blows up. What hardware do you run this on? Are my 8GB or Athlon confusing it? What graphics card? I tried everything short of changing my hardware which I do not intend to. I disabled acceleration, to latest drivers, anything I could think of.
