Connect to Network Camera?
Posted: 23. Jul 2009, 20:52
Hi all,
I run Windows XP as guest on Ubuntu host.
My new network camera has the IP 192.168.10.200.
I managed to connect from the Ubuntu host, but I need Windows XP to make the proprietary Active X interface working.
In Ubuntu Host I changed the setup like this, and it worked after a restart.
Menu -> System -> Preferences -> Network Connections
Wired Tab
mark Auth eth0
Edit
IPv4 Settings tab
Method: Manual
Address 192.168.10.100
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Apply
But how to connect from WinXP guest?
So far all I get is a timeout when doing RUN
ping 192.168.10.200
Thanks,
Jan
P.S.:
While writing this. I undid the changes described above to get an Internet connection again.
