So by dialer you mean a dial-up modem?
I don't think that will work in the guest at all.
There are ways to achieve this but very complicated and requires a lot of computer knowledge, and not supported.

If the Host is already connected the Guest won't work with the same connect path, the Guest uses the Host for access.

So, to give an answer, when the Host is connected to the net, set the VM to NAT and boot it. If you boot the VM before you have internet, there's a big chance the Guest won't have internet. Shutting down the Guest and starting it again will fix that.

Are you sure about this? Dial-up is not the same as network connections, different stacks.
Back in the old days it took me setting up a proxy and doing routing in NT with RRAS to get it to work.
I didn't think VBox could handle it. Live and learn I guess.

From the days we had dial-up at home, there was still a TCP/IP stack in use. It's not much different for VB to use that TCP/IP connection, now would it? It just forwards all data to the default gateway and primary DNS server, which are set when connecting to dial-up. If you have a UMTS connection, you can do the same.

To have internet on both at the same time, you can also use Host-Only and share the internet connection with the Host-Only connection. You need to configure the adapter in the VB preferences to use the IP 192.168.0.1, netmask 255.255.255.0 and nothing more. Don't enable the DHCP either, that should be done by Windows itself. If that doesn't work as it should, you can also install the MS Loopback Adapter (check the VirtualBox FAQ for a link) and select bridged on that one, while sharing the connection with ICS.
