I have problems starting VirtualBox on Windows Vista. I've used VB since v.2.0, but since I updated to v.2.2.0 (I'm now at v.3.0.2), the program makes my keyboard go crazy when I start up the program. I can't use the keyboard at the moment start the program. I don't know why, and I want to get help from all of you here, at the forums. I really want to use VirtualBox, but since I can't use my keyboard, I can't use it. I've tried to have the screen keyboard started up when I start VirtualBox, just to see what happens. The screen keyboard shows that almost all the buttons are pressed, and I can't to anything about it. I can't post a screenshot of it, because (as I've explained) I can't use my keyboard when I've started VirtualBox. Well, I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance!
PS. Sorry for my bad english .DS

Look in the USB section of the guest settings and make sure that you do not have a filter for your keyboard or mouse in it.
Also turning off USB may help if there are no filters for the keyboard or mouse.

Unfortunately it didn't work... The problem still remains. I tried to turn of USB for all my guests, and it still doesn't work. Something I recognized while I was looking through the Configuration window in VirtualBox is that when I click to assign a key as Host-key, the box (that's showing the key) is changing between "Right Shift" and "F3". I don't know why, but that's what happend. Well, I'm still waiting for help. Thanks in advanca, again!

Very strange. What kind of keyboard is it? Does it need special drivers in the host to work?
Only other thing that I can think of is I did have a problem with a USB keyboard and found that it was set in bios to use USB for the keyboard.
Turned that off and it fixed my problem. Only down side to that is you can not use the keyboard to get into bios when it is set like that.
I finally got a different keyboard and fixed my problem, as well as getting a PS2 keyboard and not a USB keyboard.

I'm running VirtualBox on my laptop, an Acer 6920G. I use the built-in keyboard, so I don't understand why it would be any problems using it. It has worked before, in the earlier versions of VirtualBox. It started to bug up when I updated to VirtualBox 2.0. I don't know why...

You may need to set a ticket with bugtracker on this then.
You can click the link at the bottom of my post and you will need to setup an account there because it is a different system.
BE SURE to send all of the information that you have done here.
