I have some questions

well, i read a lot here, and the manual, but i have some questions
well i was testing virtualbox in my Ubuntu computer and my Windows vista computer
ok, for example, in my Ubuntu guest, when i run virtualbox from VBoxSDL, and i pass the command -fullscreen, it resizes my host resolution or something like that, and this ability can give me and other users that use my Ubuntu, can login, and run a windows XP machine, like a real computer
for example if the virtual machine reports 640x480, the host resolution will be 640x480
but in my windows host, I don't know how can I do this, for example, I want to test some ancient games, and a Windows 9x machine, or a DOS machine, and when i go to full screen, I see a little board with the VM screen, and blackborders and my host resolution doesn't change
is it possible, that the virtual machine changes the host resolution, like VirtualPC's fullscreen mode (I uninstalled it, becuase it was too slowly and it doesn't support linux as well) and VMware workstation exclusive mode (also I unistalled it, because it is too expensive for me, a student, and it doesn't support Linux well)

Really for me the best Virtualitation soft is VirtualBox, it is fast, small, it has a lot of support, and the soft gives me a lot of possibilities, but I only want to know if I can do something that the virtual machine changes the host resolution

PD sorry by me English je je xD

Only when Guest Additions are installed.

Sorry, but i think that you aren't understanding, better with a picture je je xD
It's a Windows XP virtual Machine, with guest additions installed, running turbo pascal in full screen mode, here is the pic:
When I run the guest in full screen mode and the software in widowed mode
Image
when I run Windows XP guest in full screen mode and software in full screen mode (I hate that black borders :/)
Image
when I use Vboxsdl in my ubuntu host. it doesn't happen, VBoxSDL fills all my screen changing the host resolution for example to 720x400 when my host resolution is 1024x480, it changes to 720x480 (the host), but in my windows host (windows vista x64) vboxsdl doesn't work :( and I want to do that in my windows host

EDIT I was testing some things and now I know who makes that VBOxSDL doesn't work in my windows vista x64 host, I was trying somethings and I see that the ouput error that VBoxSDL (SDL Error: bla bla bla) comes from SDL.dll, and I have a new question, can I compile again vboxsdl with the new version of sdl.dll? and can I use the own compiled vboxsdl with the puel edition? (here is the topic about vboxsdl: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... 145#p88145)

AFAIK: The only way that I know of to get what you want is to change the Host manually to the screen size you want before you open the guest.
IE: you have a game that only works in 640x480 and you want to see it full screen. You need to set the host to 640x480 and open the guest.
I suspect this is a Windows restriction at this time and maybe someday it will all be worked out in VBox.

I see, mmmmm ok thanks for the answer, I hope that in a near future you can fix that :)
and how about recompiling vboxsdl from VBox OSE, can I use it vboxsdl recompiled on my own with the puel version?
