Hi
I'm in a Ubuntu 8.04 box with an Xp sp3 virtualized with VirtualBox 3.0.2-49928_hardy and all usb works great: just "plug, active it and use". I have an HTC HD (Blackstone) that work great in ActiveSync with mine virtual-Xp.
The trouble is when I try to connect the HTC device (in Boot Loader mode ready) to Xp. In the Virtual Box usb mask appears the name of the device but when I try to connect it give me back this error (see the screenshot)
Thanks!!

Re: Troubles HTC flashing ROM
Not all USB devices work in VirtualBox. Depending on what it is and how it has to load.
I have not seen this error reported by anyone yet besides you but maybe you should google it and see what you can find.
Try HTC flashing ROM site:forums.virtualbox.org and also do a standard google for it.
Maybe someone else that has had this problem will surface and see this but in the mean time this might help.
