Sharing Folders (XP-64bit -> XP-32bit)

Post by meeps »

Hi,

Okay so I am running Windows XP Professional 64-bit on my computer to utilize all of the 4 gigs of ram I put inside of it. I enjoy listening to updated music on my iPod but there isn't a 64-bit version of iTunes for winXP (only vista). On my last format I was able to get the crack to work but then one of my HDD's died on me (whipping all info since I'm running RAID 0). So now I'm on a fresh format trying to get iTunes to work again...

Here's the problem.
I thought by running the 32-bit version of XP Pro I'd be able to run iTunes, which I can. But I want to share my music folder from my host computer to my guest installation of XP 32-bit. I've tried sharing it but once I specify any folder it grays over the "OK" button which stops me from sharing the folder.

Does anybody have any idea how to share my music folder so I can access it on both formats (64-bit & 32-bit)? I like how iTunes organizes my music and how it's user friendly compared to my default music player (Winamp [which I'm aware can update my ipod {but I'd prefer iTunes to do this} ] ).

So if anybody has a clue how to share the folder so it's readable/writable on both formats of XP please let me know.

Thanks,
meeps

Did you try the examples/suggestions from the FAQ? also make sure the sharename is not too long and doesn't contain spaces.
