I have VirtualBox-2.2.4.R47978 on Linux kernel 2.6.30 with a WinXP Pro host.
I have an OpenOffice spreadsheet with username/passwd in one cell.
I can copy the username and paste to WinXP but when I try to copy an paste the passwd, it pastes the username.
I can past the passwd in a text editor and then copy and paste it to WinXP.

Well I have not heard this one before. But disallowing a security issue, are you able to copy and paste more than one time as long as it is not the password?
Such as copy one thing and paste it, then copy any other text and it paste that text or does it still paste the first copy?
There were some clipboard problems in version 3.0 and also in 2.24 but I don't think 2.2.4 had the copy paste problem.
I do know that copy paste were repaired in version 3.0.2 including permission problems that went back to Version 2.2.X
