Dual Monitor + Seamless Mode
Does anyone know of a way to make it so I can drag seamless applications across multiple monitors? This appears to be a problem that's been around for a while. We're demo'ing both VMware and VirtualBox.
VMware doesn't this problem, yet VirtualBox does. We love the speed and simplicity of Virtual box, but being unable to work with multiple monitors could be a show stopper. Can anyone save me here?

Re: Dual Monitor + Seamless Mode
I couldn't get vmware workstation to work with multiple monitors seemlessly. When I dragged a window to my non-primary monitor, it'd jump back to the primary monitor. If I did it a few times, the window would just disappear.

Re: Dual Monitor + Seamless Mode
Sorry, multi-monitor seamless isn't available. In fact, there are issues with seamless if you run it on a display other than the primary.

What a shame!Sasquatch wrote:Sorry, multi-monitor seamless isn't available. In fact, there are issues with seamless if you run it on a display other than the primary.
But when my Guest-System Window are on the second Screen and I switch to the seamless Mode, the Guest-System "disappears".
In this case, can it not switch to the first screen automatically?
That would help a lot ...

Nope, it won't. You can't use seamless on the secondary monitor, but fullscreen does work on it.

Yes, I can use the seamless mode only on the primary monitor.Sasquatch wrote:Nope, it won't. You can't use seamless on the secondary monitor, but fullscreen does work on it.
But that was not my question!
I wish, VirtualBox switch the client window automatically to the primary monitor when I use HOST+L.
Currently I must move the window to the first screen manually, before i can switch to the seamless mode.

Re: Dual Monitor + Seamless Mode
Well, the solution is fairly simple: don't put the VM on the secondary monitor

Re: Dual Monitor + Seamless Mode
I'd just like to add this: I really hope that Seamless could be made to work on any monitor; for that matter, it would also be very nice if windows could be moved from one monitor to another.
Since I've started work with two monitors a couple of months ago, I've discovered that it's very nice to have more than one monitor. It would be especially nice if VirtualBox could take full advantage of this flexibility! I've also been using VirtualBox; I've been discovering that VirtualBox is almost as nice as having two monitors, even despite the current limitations.
(Right now, I'm running two versions of Linux on top of Windows XP; it would be nice if one could be seamless on one monitor and the other could be seamless on the other one.)

Re: Dual Monitor + Seamless Mode
It is a pity that seamless is not available on the second monitor. Virtual PC even allows a seamless mode to straddle the two.

Re: Dual Monitor + Seamless Mode
You can use seamless rdp with either rdesktop 1.5 or the rdesktop from sourceforge's svn (rdesktop1.6 shipped by the distros is buggy with seamless on x64). It still has other issues, but it at least allows you to use both screens.
