Com Port Problem

Hi Everyone
i am running debian on a windows xp host however when i try and enable com port one with the following settings
Port COM1
Portmode: Host Device
Port/File Path: \dev\ttyS0

when i try and start debian i get the following error.
Result Code : E_FAIL (0x80005005)

i have tryed all the settings possible
but can not get this to work
any help would be great.

The information that goes in the guest settings is the host information. See screen shot below.
then in the guest
# dmesg | grep ttyS (to test the port.)

This should be in the Windows host section and I am moving it there.
