Seamless mode in VirtualBox 3.0.2

Hi all,

I usually run my XP guest in seamless mode. A few days ago I upgraded from Vbox 3.0.0. to 3.0.2. but afterwards I noticed that in seamless mode, the background doesn't get repainted when a window or menu in XP disappears.

For example, in XP,

• I press the Start button -> the Start Menu appears
• I press the Start button again -> the Start button pops back up, but the menu is still visible (but not clickable). I.e., the Linux background is not restored.

Has anyone else noticed this too?

And to make matters worse, even after downgrading back to 3.0.0 (and reapplying the guest additions of course) the problem still remains.

Nothing was changed in the Linux X configuration and no 3D acceleration is enabled in the guest.

Some people have been able to turn down or off the video hardware acceleration in the XP guest to resolve issue.
