copy/paste problem only on within the host

I am running into a problem everytime virtualbox is running for a short period of time (within a day) that causes copy and paste to not work on the host. If for example i right click a url in an email on the host and select copy, then go to paste it into the browser on the same host it will actually hang up the browser for a few seconds or more not allowing any keyboard input. Usually hitting escape key a bunch of times gets it out of the lock state. Its not specific to pasting in the browser, but any app I try to paste into. If I keep trying a bunch of times in a row eventually I can get it to work once and then have to try a bunch of times in a row again. As soon as I close down virtualbox all the copy/paste problems within the host immediately go away. I am running virtualbox 3.0.2 on kubuntu 9.04 x86_64 host. The guests I have running while this happens are kubuntu 9.04 x86 with additions installed and two slackware 12.0 console only guests without the additions. I am not sure exactly how to reproduce this problem, but it eventually happens at some point everyday after starting virtualbox.

I found this ticket for the same type of problem I am having on a linux host, but they are on a windows host.

Anyone know how i can confirm this bug in the bug tracker without actually opening up another ticket?

There was an issue with version 3.0.0 but it was fixed in version 3.0.2 for almost everyone. The fix requires you to install the new guest additions I believe though.
If you have updated the guest additions and are still having this problem then you should post a ticket in bugtracker.

after a week now, it looks like installing the new guest additions on the one guest (but not the other 2 since they are console only) pretty much solved the problem. I only once in a while have a problem trying to copy and paste using the highlight only method of copying and middle or right mouse pasting under linux, versus selecting copy or ctrl-c and then selecting paste or ctrl-v.
