Full Screen mode does not come.

Post by kan1969 »

Hi Experts,

Today I have installed Win Xp Pro on Ubuntu 9.04. After installing it in Virtual Box with necessary Add ins, the full screen does not come. I tried it in many ways. Even after enabling full screen option, the screen does not fill the monitor area.

Kindly give me a solution.

Thanks & Regards,
Kannan

Have you installed the guest additions and are you sure they worked? Follow this guide.

If you start the guest and click on devices (top left of the Guest window) you will see install guest additions. Click on that to install them. If nothing happens then click devices and unmount CD/DVD and then click on install guest additions. Once they are installed you need to reboot. After that you will have better screen resolution and be able to click drag to any size you want.

You can read more about this by clicking on the VirtualBox program and then help / content. The users guide will explain this all to you.

When the GA are installed properly, and they appear to be working, the first thing to test them is to have the window of the Guest have a smaller size than the full resolution of the monitor. Now you can drag the corner of the window to increase it's size. The GA should resize the Guest display with it. If it doesn't, either the GA aren't installed properly. or the auto-resize option is turned off. Check the Machine menu to see if the auto-resize option is enabled.

Well, I have installed the Guest Addition. But, any how I will have to check the Machine Menu Auto re size option.
