Hello all!
This particular question is not directly related to Windows 7 as a host, but I thought I would put it here anyways (moderators, please feel free to move).
I DO run Win7 as my host OS - 32bit, w 4GB RAM. All VMs are on an external USB drive.
Here's the issue: on my home network, bridging works (Ubuntu 9.04 guest), Intel PRO/1000T server adapter to my wireless, no problems. The driver is included in Ubuntu, so I don't even need to install that. The problem is that when I am at work, we run a Cisco WCS environment for our wireless, and I am getting the feeling that it is this which is causing my issue. I am unable to get an IP from the DHCP server. My googling has led me to believe that the Cisco WCS does not like having multiple IPs going to the physical (wireless) NIC of my laptop. NAT works just fine, internet access and everything.
Does anyone out there have any experience with this? The linux VMs require the bridging as they have network tools which are invaluable when issues arise, and which require being ON the network (same IP range).
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Re: Bridge Networking Cisco WCS
If I remember correctly the Cisco WCS has a setting that you can exclude or include multiple accounts (ip addresses) for specific users. I believe you are correct in that it is set to one connection at a time by default. It has been well over a year since I messed with this but you probably just need to talk to the SA at your work to get this resolved.
