Setup: I've installed Windows Vista 32bit (guest) on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit server (host) using Virtualbox 3.0.2. I'm running a quad core Xeon X3220 with 8GB DDR2. My Vista guest is a single core with 2gb ram allocated. I'm also running a Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 (256MB) using the 64 bit linux drivers. My Vista host guest has 128MB of video ram allocated through Virtualbox.
Problem: When I exit out of Vista Media Center, I get a warning error stating "TV and video may not work as expected becuase the video card does not meet the minimum memory requirements of 64 MB of video ram." It then suggests I upgrade the video driver.
I've got the Virtualbox guest additions installed. So I was hoping that this setup would beat the minimum requirements to be able to run Vista Media Center. Any ideas?

Re: Vista Media Center reporting less than 64MB video ram
Run one of those diagnostic programs to see what the video actually reports. VMC may be incorrect.

Re: Vista Media Center reporting less than 64MB video ram
I downloaded "Video Memory Stress Test" onto the Vista guest...reported 128MB video memory and all tests passed.

As aspected, just ignore the warning.

Re: Vista Media Center reporting less than 64MB video ram
OK, I uninstalled the Guest Additions and reinstalled them in safe mode. Now I do not get the error...but I still get no signal from the tuner. Also the warning about "Files needed to display video are not installed...". But at least no more video memory warnings.

Additional hardware such as pci stickin tuners won't work in a VM as the VM does not see the real hardware, there is no support for PCI devices, an USB tuner might work.
