Folks,
I am building a Debian 5.0 amd64 host operating system that will serve as a container for several Linux guests. The guest OS's need to support tagged VLANs (802.1q) and their virtual interfaces will use NAT.
So how do I go about doing this?
Is it sufficient to configure vlan tagging on the host OS and somehow the guest NAT interfaces will be able to use tagged VLANs too?
<or>
Do I leave the the host interface alone and configure vlan tagging on the guest NAT interfaces (is that possible)?
<or>
Must I configure vlan tagging on both the host and guest NAT interface?
Don't suggest that I use VB Host Interface Networking, that would be feasible but I am NIC limited.
Thanks in advance!
Robert

Re: VLAN - 802.1q Host/Guest NAT interface configuration
Well since no one knows the answer to this perhaps I will attempt all my guessed solutions. If there is interest, I'll post the result here.

Sure, there is interest:)
VLAN and trunking would be a great feature to have in the GUI to make VB viable in server-vm situations where VLANs are used.
Working with ESX and virtual switches and VLANs are convinient, so if simmilar could be done with VB, it would be great
