Cannot Create or add new virtual Disk

Post by rostamiani »

Hi
I Installed VirtualBox 3.0.2 on Windows 7 RC1 Build 7260.
When I wanted to create or add a new virtual disk ,I received this error :

Could not save the settings file 'C:\Users\{username}\.VirtualBox\VirtualBox.xml
(VERR_ACCESS_DENIED)

Details:
Result Code: VBOX_E_FILE_ERROR (0x80BB0004)
Component: VirtualBox
Interface: IVirtualBox {3f4ab53a-199b-4526-a91a-93ff62e456b8}

What's wrong ?

Thanks :D

Windows 7 beta & Release Candidate is a development OS and not supported by the community (us volunteers/mods) directly. Because it's still in development, changes can be made at the last moment, which could cause to render all support done in previous versions useless and possibly cause serious issues. Someone may respond to your question if they have observed this behavior though.

Right Click your Sun xVM VirtualBox icon and select Troubleshoot Compatibility. It will run through a detection phase and give you the option of either running it with recommended settings or troubleshooting the program. You want to Try Recommended Settings . . . this will throw it into XP mode and it will run fine. I did this, created the HD and installed Ubuntu off of a disc image with zero problems.

Have Fun :twisted:
