Installing VirtualBox on an iSCSI target machine.

My thought is that I am SOL but I guess I'll ask anyway.
I currently boot my machine from an iSCSI target. For those unfamiliar with iSCSI think of as a form of ethernet booting.
Well, when installing VirtualBox it needs to disable the LAN and as such I lose my connection to my system drive and cannot complete the installation as it results in a fatal error.
Has anyone come up with a workaround?
