I'm running VB 3.0.2 on Kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy). The visor kernel module is not installed.
I've installed a WinXP guest with SP3 and guest additions are installed, as is the correct version of the Palm Desktop software. HotSync is running.
With the Palm plugged in, if I click Devices->USB Devices I can see an entry for "Palm, Inc. Palm Handheld [0100]". The box next to the entry is unchecked, but if I hover over the entry it shows "Available" and the correct serial number for my device. (So there is USB communication happening).
When I push the HotSync button, the device shows "Connecting to the desktop ..." but nothing happens in the guest.
I have tried every combination I can think of: push HotSync button, then check the box next to the Palm entry under "USB Devices"; check the box then press the HotSync button; press the HotSync button without checking the box. No joy.
The only thing I really need Windows for is to HotSync that little bugger.
If anyone has any suggestions I'm all eyes.
