Xp VM crashing every time I try to enable networking

Post by startling »

In my XP VM I disabled the "LAN / High speed internet connection". When I tried to enable it again, Virtualbox crashed every time. I upgraded from VB 2.2 to VB 3.0.2 hoping that might cure the problem but it hasn't.

VB is crashing every time I try to enable the LAN in Xp.

I'd be grateful for any help.

Create a new VM and attach VDI to it, maybe it'll come back up.

Yes I can. I'm the the prompt now. Should I choose Safe Mode with Networking?

I tried going into safe mode with networking and tried to enable the network again, but it crashed at exactly the same point.

I did a System Restore in the Xp VM and it worked - network is back. I still think this is a problem, though.

You can always create a bugtracker ticket with all the details, at least its working again.
