Virtualbox keeps locking up when running Ubuntu updates.

Virtualbox keeps locking up when running Ubuntu updates.
My version of VirtualBox 3.0.0 kept locking up when running updates on Ubuntu 9.0.4 (running on Windows 7 RC1 machine). I installed VirtualBox 3.0.2 and the I tried running Check for Updates and that said there were no updates needed but I installed 3.0.2 and it seems to be working now. Anyone know why version 3.0.0 kept locking up and why the Check for Updates option wasn't working? Were there bugs that were fixed?

That was one of the reasons for the maintenance release of 3.0.2
