I'm running an Arch Linux VM running on VB version 3.0.4 running under an Arch Linux host. The VM boots up just fine and is fully functional, except that the mouse in the VM simply stops working after a while. It seems to be stuck and invisible trapped in the lower right of the screen. If I click w/ the left button, the right-click submenu pops up and all I can do it select one of the options from it (new file, new folder, etc.) The only way I can get the mouse back is to restart the VM. I have a USB mouse if that matters.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Re: odd mouse behavior under 3.0.2
i might be having just the same behaviour:
Ubuntu 9, Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop, 1 gig of memory, Windows XP Pro as the guest O/S.
I fought like bloody heck to get it to boot in more than just safe mode. In regular Windows mode, It now works ok for a few minutes (sans networking) and then just freezes. I turned on task manager performance graphing just to watch and sure enough, it freezes. The cpu (via top) is pegged for the vm, so it's working hard to do nothing.
I still have all the NIC's disabled in this windows image, but that isn't related. After I get past the freeze up behaviour, I'll address getting networking to work without preventing the bootup.
Any Windoze/virtualbox gurus out there have a magic bullet?

I don't think your problem is the same as mine... my system is perfectly stable, my mouse is just frozen and invisible.

Re: odd mouse behavior under 3.0.x
Damn! Even under 3.0.4 this is happening... is anyone else experiencing this?
Re: odd mouse behavior under 3.0.x
I didn't have the problem in 3.0.2, but it cropped up with the installaton of the 3.0.4 Guest Additions. Mine is not quite as bad -- I just don't have the mouse at first but, if I move it around a bit, right-click, or a combination of the two, it'll show up -- and once it shows up it stays. But still, it was rock solid in all earlier versions of VirtualBox.graysky wrote:Damn! Even under 3.0.4 this is happening... is anyone else experiencing this?
I should mention, I use CentOS 5.3.

Re: odd mouse behavior under 3.0.x
I see the same behavior with 3.0.4 on a Mepis host with W2K guest. The (USB) mouse pointer is invisible unless it's on the titlebar or menubar. Once I manage to click on something, or right-click the desktop, the pointer appears and stays for the duration of the session. I never saw this before 3.0.4RonBlizz wrote:I didn't have the problem in 3.0.2, but it cropped up with the installaton of the 3.0.4 Guest Additions.
