[Solved] Guest window within VB doesn't fill screen

Post by Girts »

I'm new to this , so let's not get too technical, please!

Using Toshiba laptop L300 1AS running Ubuntu 9.04 as a test for doing this for real on my Dell desktop.

I installed VB 2.2.4 and then installed XP as guest. OK. Then I installed Lightroom on XP. Fine. Pressing Rt CTRL + F gave me a full screen of either XP or Lightroom as appropriate.

Then I did a day's work on Lightroom, which went well, (much celebrating), but the next day the VB guest screen would not expand to full screen. And the XP homepage has a narrow extra margin on the left hand side which reads 'shared with Ubuntu'. All of which makes XP etc unusable, as you can't explore files etc.

So I've just installed VB 3.0.2 instead, but it's made no difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Girts

Yes, guest editions was installed at the same time as VB. Or should I re-install it now I've installed the new VB?

Yes re-install. Then after you get in to the guest hit (right ctrl + f) a few times and see if it will adjust.

OK, did that, but it made no difference ... UNTIL ... I saw elsewhere a mention of 'seamless mode'. Applying that did the trick!

Thanks very much for your help - it actually was vital.
