Remote desktop connection to VM hangs from Windows client

Hi,

I've got a strange problem that I'm wondering if others have encountered. Here's the setup:
* A host machine (Ubuntu) running VirtualBox with a VM (running Ubuntu)
* A laptop that is the client machine and that runs Windows XP. I use this to connect using Remote Desktop to the VM. The laptop is either connected over WLAN or a LAN/WAN.
* Another laptop is used as a second client machine, this laptop runs Ubuntu.

The general problem is that the remote desktop connection often stops working when I connect to the VM using the Windows laptop over WLAN. Mostly, doing a reconnect will work, but sometimes only after quite a long time. In these cases it's like the RDP software in VirtualBox has ended up in a state where it's waiting for something until a timeout occurs. I suspect dropped packets on the WLAN could be related to this.

Note that if the connection is hung, then I'm not able to connect to the VM from the Ubuntu laptop either. However, if I'm only using the Ubuntu laptop the connection seems to work all the time. Something else that's a bit strange is that if I connect with the Windows laptop over LAN (or from WAN for that matter), I don't notice these problems when using the Windows laptop. So the problem seem to only occur when I'm using the Windows laptop over WLAN, or at the very least the problem is extremely more likely to occur when using WLAN.

I'm running the VM using 'VBoxHeadless' from the command prompt, and I don't see any error messages or warnings in that shell. Is there some other place where I can look at relevant logs? Or do any of you have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further?

Try switching to the IntelPro/1000 T server Virtual Network Adapter and see if this will help until until a fix is sent out.
