bridge mode broken for windows guests?

Vbox: 3.0.2
Host: Vista Ulti x64 fully patched (P5Q MB, Q9550, 4 gigs OCZ (memtest 100% OK), Intel PRO/1000 GT, Velocoraptor VIA P5Q's onboard SATA controller, all drivers current.

Guest: Vista Ulti X64 (fully patched via slipstream) (default settings except IO APCI enable)
Guest: XP SP3 (fully patched via slipstream) (default settings)

6 hours of pulling my hair out and I have limited the issue to AT LEAST windows hosts with networking set to bridged (only NAT and bridged tested).

Simple test, default installs of the above guests. Tested with PRO 1000 T Server and PRO 1000 MT Desktop via system->network. Two adapters one set to bridged one set to NAT. Booted XP guest, verified adapters using ipconfig then disabled bridged adapter, updated nic drivers to latest, reboot. verified only NAT adapter running, using IE6 saved winamp (note its a signed exe) to desktop, ran file (*note* signed file IS correct) everything works. Clear IE cache (required on IE6), disabled NAT adapter, enabled bridge adapter, deleted exe on desktop, re-saved winamp, ran file (*note* signed file IS NOT correct) file crashes. Repeated the same thing on the vista host. Same results with different browsers and OS. Also ram into this on a Ubuntu host using the same NIC but different hardware but I did not fully check this issues as in my case I need bridged mode working on a windows host. Compares on the files show very slight differences, a byte here and there off. Ran both files thru virus total for kicks, both clean.

Anyone else have this issue or know a workaround?

From reading posts and the bugtracker I can say that you are not alone.
Readings indicate that fixes are on the way. (probably the next maintenance fix)
For now your best bet is to use the IntelPro/1000 T server.
