I'm running Windows 7 x64 as host and I wonder how well virtualbox support Windows 7 as host. When I install vista x86 or windows 7 as guest I get occasionally bsod. Then in guest cpu meter fluctuate between 20-50% and the guest shows wrong speed of my cpu (6GHz). Sometimes when I shutdown vista the virtual machine crash or stuck.

So I wonder if it is poor support of 7?

Running Windows 7 RC 64-bit as my hose here, no problems... Must be something up on your end.

Official support was never added, and never will be for development releases of an OS. Only final versions can be supported due to possible last minute changes.

Hi, I'm posting in this topic, because I have the simular issues.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit RTM as a host, on an Asus P5E board, with an Intel Q6600 and 8 GB of RAM.

I have installed Windows 7 Professional 32-bit as a guest, but there are lots of BSOD (most of the time 0x0000005C) or freezes.

Does anybody has a clue? What can I check to solve this issues?

You can hit Google to see what the problem is. Does the BSOD happen on the Guest or Host?

See http://social.technet.microsoft.com/For ... 143519e43a for some info, and http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe ... tnG=Search for other possible causes of the crash.

Thanks for your reply, I already investigated that. The host is running fine, no single crash since I installed that one. Only the 32-bit guest is crashing around. But I think I've the answer found on this forum... the Virtualbox 3.0.4 is not optimized yet for Windows 7 (RTM).
So, I've to wait till the new version is released. I hope this is soon!

There is a beta available, but I haven't spotted Windows 7 RTM in it. Maybe the second beta? I'd say install it, try it out and if it doesn't work, create a topic there and ask.
