Fedora 11 + VirtualBox 3.*.* gives no sound in WinXP Client

Post by grayfox »

Hi,
The title just about says it all... When I start VirtualBox 3.x I get a warning that
the sound device is set to null and the reason is:
"Host Audio Not Responding"

My hardware is an HP4000DV laptop ( Centrino Chipset) and I am
running a WinXP client.

Audio is working on the laptop when Fedora 11 is running.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jerry

What Option have you checked in VBOX? Null, OSS, Alsa, Pulse?

Check all this Options instead of NULL.

Ahh Thank you :D

OSS was checked. I changed to Pulse and sound is now working...

Good to know that it works now.

I think a package like "alsa-oss" or "Pulse-oss" was failing.

Anyway, Pulse is the best solution, because fc 11 works with pulse.
