Thank you for reading my post.
I am wondering whether the guest additions iso is included in the VirtualBox version 3 deb file provided in the download section or I should download the guest addition iso separately. Can someone please clearify?

The guest additions are indeed included in the download.
You access it by starting the guest and then click on the devices tab at the top left of the VM window and then selecting install guest additions.
