Virtual Box MUCH slower than 2.2.2

Hi,
Just upgraded from Vbox 2.2.2 to 3.0.0.r49315 under Vista SP2 32 bit
Slicker, better options but...
My VM is Ubuntu 9.04 Phoronix-test-suite Super-pi test to 1 million digits used to take 12 or 13 seconds and now takes over 25 seconds.
Anybody else noticed this? Is it expected to get faster with 3.1 or what?
