Move VirtualBox with Snapshots

Hi,

I created a VirtualBox (Mac Host, Ubuntu Guest), and wanted to use it on different hosts. On Vista right now for example.

I copied the Machines and HardDisks Folder to my Vista Computer under the .VirtualBox Folder. I see the machine and can start it without a problem, but the snapshot I made is missing. I don't see it and the machine starts before the last snapshot I created.

What am I doing wrong?

Regards
Spanky

The snapshots are stored in VirtualBox.xml which is in the main VirtualBox directory (i.e. where you found the HardDisks and Machines directories). Open the file, find the bit you want and copy/paste it into the correct place in the new VirtualBox.xml. Take care doing this as getting the config wrong will prevent VirtualBox from starting correctly. Make sure VirtualBox is closed when copying the info over.

Note - if the changes you make don't seem to take effect immediately do a quick check to see if any VirtualBox processes are hanging around. VirtualBox seems to do some caching of the config. Kill the processes and reopen VirtualBox and all should be well.
