Supporting more dmi decode types?

Post by Virtual69 »

Are there any plans to support more DMI decode types?

Our Windows people are checking several different DMI decode parameters to ensure that you are installing on a supported platform. They support every other virtual platform except they are refusing to support VB.

I can fake all this out with DMI decode responses as discussed in the FAQ, but unfortunately, there aren't quite enough settable parameters to fake everything out (they are checking for the platform type...ie, laptop, desktop, etc). VB returns a null response, VMware returns a response of "1" which apparently implies virtual, which would get me going.

Any thoughts? thanks....

This is something that you will need to ask the DEV's.
They do at times read these and reply but it might be better to submit a ticket on bugtracker if this is relatively important to you.
Click bugtracker at the bottom of my post. You will need to setup an account there as well.
