[Solved] XP Guest Inaccessible - USB Issue

Post by mike_bruns_99 »

Hi All,

I'm running Virtualbox 2.2.4 PUEL, with a Ubuntu 9.04-32bit host, and Windows XP-SP3, 32bit guest. I suspended my vbox image with my iPhone connected. I was in iTunes syncing podcasts. I'm currently getting an inaccessible message and can't start the image.

Code: Select all

The Port number value 'FFFFFFFF' is too big (max 0xFFFF).
Result Code:
NS_ERROR_INVALID_ARG (0x80070057)
Component:
USBDeviceFilter
Interface:
IUSBDeviceFilter {d6831fb4-1a94-4c2c-96ef-8d0d6192066d}
Does anyone have any suggestions?

That worked perfectly! I removed the filter and all is well.

Thanks!

Just to add a little for anyone else... I had the same problem, and the solution seems to be to remove the device (in my case an iPod Nano) BEFORE powering down the virtual machine.

Also, you can replace the 'FFFFFFFF' value with an empty string from the command line by doing

Code: Select all

sed -i -e 's/FFFFFFFF//' path/to/the/xml/file
