I installed VirtualBox 3.0.0 r49315 and created a guest machine which mounted the Microsoft's WinXP IE6 vhd. I have tried both AMD and Intel ethernet adapters and reinstall the guest additions and the guest XP still cannot found any ethernet drivers available. Is it i have some steps forgot to do?

Find out what ethernet controller it see's and then download its drivers, transport them via a CD to the VM.

For what i know, Windows XP ships with the AMD ethernet driver, no need to install anything.
Are you using a stream lined version of Windows?
If so than follow vbox4me2 instructions. If not thant you might have a Windows problem.

If it's an MS VHD file for webdevelopment, then they usually strip most things that aren't needed for use in VPC, such as drivers. Grab them like VBox4me2 said. IIRC, the PCNet driver is on the GA ISO. It was added for support in Vista, when the Intel adapter wasn't around yet, or still experimental.

What is the difference between a cat 5 and a cat 6 ethernet cable when i hook up my 360 to xbox live? I am trying to connect my 360 to live but the ethernet cable that came with it is too short. What is the difference between cat 5 and cat 6 ethernet cables?

Google about that, cat types are not VBox related, locked.
