I recently formated my windows xp, and reinstalled it. Before I formated my old Xp I backed up my VirtualBox machines and hard drives, including all snapshots.
However When I recopied my backed up VMs Hard Disk Folder and Machines Folder, then open up virtualbox, I do not see my machines... and there is no way for me to re-register them!
Also If I create a new VM then attach the hard disk, it does not recognize the snapshots associated with it!
I'm quite confused as backing up and restoring VM's in virtualPc and VMware was as easy as copying the files over... What is the standard way of backing up and restoring VM's in Virtualbox...
Please help thank you

Re: REstore Backed up VM
You need to restore the master xml file which is in your profile folder, ea. .virtualbox.xml, which holds all the references to machines.
