HardDrive Boot Failing...

Post by kmbarlow »

Hiyas...

I have had some problems getting a Guest OS up and running with VirtualBox. I have a Linux host (Fedora 10) and am trying to install a Fedora 11 guest. I have gotten it successfully installed once but upon trying to run a system update, the entire thing froze and would not come back up on reboot (the guest image that is).

I re-installed the entire application VirtualBox 3.0 and recreated the guest. The installation finished successfully but when I try to reboot the guest, it just hangs at a "_" prompt and the VBox.log file has the following:

Code: Select all

This message has happened 2x after trying to recreate the guest (on two separate installs that is). Can anyone offer some guidance here?

Thanks.

Not sure if this makes any difference but I just noticed that I seem to get these errors no matter what... I am thinking that the fact I even got the application installed and running once is almost a fluke... It seems to be constantly complaining about my HDD params...

I have a 250GB SATA HDD that seems to be on SATA1 in the system BIOS... Enabling the SATA controller and setting the Virtual HDD to SATA1 doesn't seem to resolve the issue.

Thanks.
