Host: Ubuntu 8.10, using Virtual Box 2.0.4_OSE, Created: 10 GB HDD, 1536 RAM, 64 MB Graphic, Using NAT, ACPI off

When I try to install WinXP, VirtualBox always cancel this after formating the partition. I could not install any Version of WinXP (tried 4 ISOs and 2 CDs (SP2-SP3)).
I need this for getting connecting with the Windows-Novell-Client with the company-network to use a few of Network-shares :(

I installed virtualbox via apt, added my username to group vboxusers and made a chmod 777 on the created HDD. Nothing works... I don't understand, need help!

Try installing with the RAM set to 512 Meg. Or at least no more than 1024 Meg if you have 3 gig of RAM on the host.

thx, I tried this, and the installation starts, near between the end, there's an error. "hpzisc12.sys" could not been copied. Repeat copying or ignore was the only action. Repeat doesn't worked, but the ignore, the error came twice and would be canceld by me. Than the installation failed with "hard mistake", production-cataloges aren't been installed. This happens to every of my 6 versions... Does Virtualbox really support Windows XP? What could solve the problem now?

here's one fix for the current problem:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311755/en

It's a problem with the ROM-Drive, so I have to copy the I386 to Harddrive... :?

Hope that's the last problem...
