VBOX3 Problem With NAT and Snapshoting

Post by roeia »

Hello, I examine the version 3.0.0 as a solution for implementing virtualization in the company where I work in.

I wanted to work with NAT on“Vista 32 Snapshot”, but what is happening is that I am losing packets when pinging to the external servers in my local network from this Virtual Machine.
Same is not happening from the host machine ( I tested on Linux Fedora 11(x64) and on Windows Vista x64 as host machines) so I can determine that the problem came from the Virtual Box.
When you switch the network mode to bridge mode all is working fine with 0% network packet loss, when I revert snapshot to the original state with NAT (without snapshot) all is working fine with 0% packet loss.
Same is happened in the previous version 2.2.4.

Can you please let me know what is the problem with NAT and Snapshots and what should I do in order to fix this ?

There is a known problem with NAT on VirtualBox 3.0.0. Please try to downgrade to VirtualBox 2.2.4 or wait for the next maintenance release which fixes the problem. See here.
