Trying to play two of a game at one...

I want to play Titan Quest with my girlfriend, originally I wanted to run the game on my laptop and on my computer, and just LAN the game. Unfortunately, my laptop can't run the game. The next configuration that came to mind was virtualization.
The plan was to have two virtual machines running on my computer at once, and use different mouses and keyboards for each, then just run Titan Quest on low settings (I am confident my computer can handle the load) on each of the VMs.
Is there a better solution, or how can I get Titan Quest to run in my Virtual Machine?
My (host) computer's operating system is Windows 7 (64-bit), and I happened to have a 32-bit Windows 7 DVD available, so I decided to just use that for my two (guest) machines. If it's easier to work with other operating systems, that can be done (although I'd rather not reinstall windows on my host machine).
If there's any other information I can provide, let me know, I'll say if I don't know how to obtain it.
