After upgrade to 3.0.0 stable the problem described here http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19092 came back. I discovered that VBox runs without problems when started from root account.

What sould I check or/and change to run it from regular user?

Ah...

I already found solution, but it's not so intuitive.

After installation VBox always says that VityualBox/compontents cannot be trusted and I should orbid access to it. After changing them to 700 my problem appeared (even that before it didn't cause any problems!). I changed it again to 755 and now it works and there is no warning about "components cannot be trusted".

It works, but I don't understeand it. Can anybody explain it to me?

Vbox is supposed to have a user group associated with it. You add users to the group, who you want to enable to use Vbox. You don't want a virtual machine to run with unrestricted rights, so it is jailed to an extent.

Add yourself to the Vbox user's group, change the permissions back to default, and you should be good to go.
