Panic on Fedora 11 2.6.29 kernel when installing VBox 3.0

Post by vb_newbie »

I am trying to install Virtual Box 3.0 on my Fedora 11 x86_64 laptop. The rpm installation itself appears fine. However, while loading the vboxdrv kernel module, system panics.

Code: Select all

/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: line 150: 5306 Segmentation fault modprobe vboxdrv > /dev/null 2>&1
[linuxsri@localhost Download]$ [87ot
bash: [87ot: command not found
[linuxsri@localhost Download]$ h ~~y12
Message from syslogd@localhost at Jul 5 10:07:15 ...
 kernel:general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP
Here are the details of the panic:

I did not have this problem with the 2.0.8 version that was shipped with Fedora 9. I could not install the 2.2.4 version on Fedora 11 due to dependency issues. Anyone else facing similar problems??

Thank you.
