When installing Ubuntu 9.04, VirtualBox crash when download

I have Ubuntu 9.04. VirtualBox 2.2.4 was installed with Ubuntu 9.04. Working well. Now, with version 3 of VirtualBox, no. When Ubuntu 9.04 (installed in VirtualBox) is connected to internet, VirtualBox crash. How work bad, I installed new Ubuntu 9.04 in VirtualBox, but when connected to internet to download updates crash VirtualBox. Therefore, I can not install Ubuntu 9.04 in VirtualBox.

I have Windows XP installed on VirtualBox and it works very well.

I got that operate by changing the network card. I put the Intel Desktop and it worked.
