Just a quick note:
Installed VB 3.0.0 on WXP SP2. Then installed a guest O/S (OpenBSD) and spend 18 hours of compilation to test a new build - All NICs functioning as normal.
Shutdown WXP into Hibernate.
Booted back up next day and got BAD_POOL_CALLER blue screen.
All networking devices were unavailable. Not even a link light would come up.
Rebooted several times and still no NICs (neither eth0 or wifi)
Rebooted WXP and tried to remove VB 3.0.0 - Uninstall hung. Shutdown hung - Had to remove the battery to power off
Tried to remove the VB network adaptor driver from windows and it hung - Had to remove the battery to power off
Tried to remove the VB network adaptor driver from windows anbd informed me that this could not be removed as it was an integral part of networking.
Rebooted
Found that VB 3.0.0 & driver had been removed.
Tested all NICs and these all worked.
Outcome:
Decided not to use Virtual Box on WXP and shall use Ubuntu instead & hope to copy the guest o/s I worked on to the Linux box. I hope.
