Please post the host RAM and the exact settings for one of the guests that you are trying to use.

Hi, for each host i assignate 512 M of RAM, my computer have 2 Go of ram.
the iso images I try to use are :
- debian-500-i386-netinst.iso
- KNOPPIX_V6.0-ADRIANE_V1.1CD-2009-01-27-EN.iso
- Windows 7 Official Beta 1 build 7000 x86 EN.iso

These versions are funccional because i use it in my house with same parameters.

Between the machine that works for you and the one that doesn't, whats the difference? are there any tools/programs installed they could interfear?

I am having the same problem, I am on a Dell Latitude D830 (laptop) running XP Pro SP 3 with 2GB RAM.

I am getting the blue screen with a message that a FW.SYS error. When I restart the machine and try to run it comes up with a failed to register COM errror.

I started having problems when I tried to upgrade to 2.2 from 2.1.4. I have stayed at 2.1.4 but noticed that 3.0.0 was released so I tried it and now I can't get 3.0.0 off my machine and when I try to run 2.1.4 (installer) it says the installer is in a suspended mode and it has to finish that process before it can continue. I seems to be related to the changes made in the networking stuff.

I also have VMWare player on my machine for images we use at work and now it can't connect to the internet (using bridged). I am kind of in trouble now not being able to use my VMs in the VMWare player, not sure if they are related.

No idea of a tools/programs who could interfear?

I use only standard applications like in my house !
I have another collaborator's computer where i try VB and... it works !!!

VB don't work only in my dell Latitude D531 !

pdouglasamx if you have a dell to, it could be a dell's driver problem ?
Have you install all the update for your dell ?

Anything installed that can cause it? like norton anti virus, or a third party firewall.

No !
In the 2 computers i have the same antivirus (OfficeScan) and the firewall is a network firewall for all the enterprise (CheckPoint)

I check for winWP firewall and he's turned off.

For a test you could remove checkpoint to see if it makes any difference.

No i could'nt because it's an enterprise firewall !
But in other computer with same FW it works so i don't thinks the problem came from that :(

Hi, today i try the new version of virtualbox : virtualbox_virtuabox_3.0.2.49928_x86_amd64_francais_30849.exe
i delete all my previous virtual machines and virtual Hard drive

I do :
- NEW : name:Debian / OS:Linux / Version:Debian
- Memory : 256Mo
- Virtual Hard Drive : Create new - Dynamic size - C:\Images-ISO\Virtual-drives\Debian\debian.vdi 6 Go
- Optical disk - insert new - Iso image - C:\Images-ISO\debian-500-i386-netinst.iso
and ... RUN
I see the BlueScreen Virtualbox, the debian boot screen (wher i must choose the type of installation) and my computer reboot !
I do a second test and it's the same thing, VB screen, debian boot screen, and my computer freeze ! i do a hard reboot.

Disable the auto reboot on crash (system properties), you should see a BSOD with information.
