Problems with version 3.0.0 on Centos 5.3 (Linux)

Post by servtelecom »

Good evening!
In version 3.0.0 of VirtualBox first encounter with the following error;
I upgraded from 2.2.4 to 3.0.0 and have a virtualized Windows 2008 with SQL2005 running 64Bits. What happens is that when I enable the option to 2 am that processed after the only time it restarts or I get errors with odbc and SQL, if you put only 1 Processor works perfectly so I think that is something that is not emulated well 2 Process and worries me at the moment I got it working with only 1 process.

Windows 2003 does not leave me 2 processed when the choice of 2 active processes, the system recognizes the hardware but Task Manager only a 1.

I hope your answer! thanks!

Did you also update the guest additions in the Windows VM?
Also you probably have the single processor kernel since that is what you installed in the beginning and need to update the Windows install to the multi-processor kernel.

Be sure to make a backup of the original VDI and all the settings (copy the machine xlm) in case you need to revert back should the kernel update fails.

The machine detects me 2 Process and me well managed, that it would re-install Windows to correct all estubiera?

The same image in the probe xen and I worked well but I do not like xen. VirtualBox in activating the 2 processed me even slower to load the operating system! just manage 2 processadors!

In future versions you asegurareis that really works well with Windows 2008 64bits?
