Hello,
I have a problem on VB 3.0.0
My virtual machine is Windows XP SP3. My Physical machine is W7 RC1 Build 7100.
The Direct 3D with DX9 is normally compatible.
But, i can't user D3D...
When i do dxdiag, he say me that Direct 3D is deactivated.
I would run games, can you tell me what to do?
Thanks.

Re: Direct 3D & VirtualBox 3.0.0
Did you install the new Guest Addition 3.0 to your Guest OS? and enable 3D Acceleration on your Guest Machine Configuration?

The Guest Addition tools also need to be installed in Safe Mode for D3D to work, I believe.

Re: Direct 3D & VirtualBox 3.0.0
Thank you for the note on installing in Safe Mode. I also could not get 3D to function normally until I installed in Safe Mode. Also, make sure you say no to the system protection warnings to replace the files since VirtualBox guest additions use a modified version of the DirectX layer that Windows doesn't like you replacing. Oh and on a side note, make sure you have DirectX 9c installed BEFORE you install the guest additions.

Don't let Windows update overwritten VB DX files.
If you have run Windows update lately, uninstall guest additions,
then install it from within safe mode again
The D3D will be back again.
