Seamless Mode + No Taskbar

Post by drobe2423 »

Hi everyone, I've searched on this topic but have not found much help. I have a an openSUSE 11.1 VM that I'm running on a Windows XP Pro host. I've successfully installed the guest additions, but am having a hard time with seamless mode. When I switch to seamless mode, I do not get a taskbar for openSUSE. I've gotten all updates for openSUSE and am running the most current release of VBox. Any ideas why this might be happening?

What desktop manager are you using on suse? Is it KDE? If so can you shut off composite then see if you get the bar in seamless mode?

For the fun of it, move your taskbar to a different location, let's say the left side of the screen. You might need to unlock the taskbar first. Then switch to seamless. You can now see what is exactly happening. It's possible, though should not occur, that the taskbar is covered by your panel, or the panel gets covered by the taskbar.
